Insect Bite Identification in Humans

All of us who horse-back-ride are bothered by insects and all sorts of creepy crawlies. Each person reacts differently to insect bites, snake bites, etc. Sometimes there is just minor irritation with redness and itching. Others will have swelling, redness, itching, pain and even a systemic reaction (anaphylaxis) Bee Prepared. I am allergic to many stinging and biting insects so I carry an epi-pen in my pack as well as antihistamines and a prescription steroid cream from my allergist. In fact, recently I completed 5 years of mixed vespids shots for extreme allergies to yellow jackets, wasps, and hornets. Avoiding insect stings and bites is imperative for me!
