Bronco Sam/A Black Cowboy

Bronco Sam was born Sam Steward, in Mexico in 1852, of mixed ancestry: African, Mexican and Caucasian. His name was changed by historians to Bronco Sam. Bronco Sam was a cattle driver who came north from Texas with the first herd of cattle brought to Wyoming. Sam eventially settled down on a ranch which was located west of Laramie, Wyoming. He died there in 1888. Bronco Sam claimed that he could ride anything. He was known to be fun loving and given to a good time. Thre are many stories passed down about his meanderings. It is also said that Bronco Sam was also known to not be afraid of anything!
